Why this product
GI 38, naturally low.
Jowar is one of the lowest-GI grains in the Indian kitchen. No reformulation needed — the grain itself is the answer.
Naturally gluten-free.
Pure jowar contains no gluten. Suitable for diabetics who also have gluten sensitivity or coeliac considerations.
Stone milled, never bleached.
Slow stone milling preserves the bran and germ. No artificial whitening, no maida cutting, no fillers.
Frequently asked
Can I make pure jowar roti without wheat?
+Yes, but jowar atta is gluten-free, so the dough will need careful handling. Use hot water for binding and roll between two sheets of plastic for best results.
Is this single-origin?
+Yes. We source jowar from a small group of farms in Maharashtra and Karnataka, selected for the variety's low-GI characteristics.
Does jowar lose nutrients in milling?
+Industrial high-speed milling does. Our cold stone milling preserves the bran and germ — the parts where most of the fibre and minerals live.
Can I mix this with wheat atta at home?
+Yes — many customers blend it 50:50 with wheat atta to ease into low-GI cooking. We test our blend version as the Multigrain Atta if you'd prefer pre-blended.
