Why this product
The dalia your kitchen knows.
Pure cracked wheat in the texture and form your family has cooked for generations. We have not changed the food — we have measured it.
GI 48, the safe end of normal.
Wheat dalia naturally sits in the lower GI range when whole-grain. Our minimal processing keeps it that way.
Bran retained.
Industrial dalia often removes bran for longer shelf life. We keep it in. Bran is fibre. Fibre is what keeps dalia's GI low.
Frequently asked
Is this the same as suji or rava?
+No. Suji is finely milled refined wheat with bran removed. Our wheat dalia is coarsely cracked whole wheat with bran intact.
Can I make upma with this?
+Yes — our dalia upma is excellent and significantly higher in fibre than suji upma. Cook time is slightly longer, around 12 to 15 minutes.
Why does mine sometimes taste bitter?
+Whole-wheat dalia can develop a slight bitterness if stored too long after opening. Always store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place; consume within 8 weeks of opening.
Is this single-grain?
+Yes. Pure cracked wheat, nothing else. For a multi-grain blend, see our Multigrain Dalia.
